Named after the Omaha Indians, Omaha Pérez was born in San Francisco in 1970. Since graduating art school in 1993, he has established a reputation as an illustrator with an aptitude for synthesizing real and imagined elements into unusually resonant surreal images. He has provided a diverse range of artwork for books, magazines, collectible cards, decorative candles, comics, video games, DVDs and television.
Omaha has collaborated with numerous writers including Richard Hell, Robert Hunter and Steve Niles.
In the mid-nineties Omaha was known for such indie comics as RAW PERIPHERY, SHOCK THE MONKEY and PREY FOR US SINNERS. Omaha’s first graphic novel in five years, a critically acclaimed supernatural thriller entitled BODHISATTVA, is now available from his own publishing company O-P-P. Other O-P-P successes include the PERIPHERY anthology and Mark Fearing's CENOZOIC. Omaha's own HOLMES followed in 2005 - 2007 and is being collected by Ait/Planet Lar in March '08. Despite evidence to the contrary, Omaha is actually a great fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
The Society of Illustrators New York, the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles, and the Spectrum illustration annual have recognized Omaha’s work. He resides in Southern California with his wife and two children.
